About Megan Terral Jewelry...
In my work, the stone or pendant are the centerpiece—I let them drive the design process, accenting them with brass, silver, leather, and beads, to produce fun and vibrant pieces that will last for a lifetime.
I work with a variety of stones, including precious and semi-precious stones, and love to incorporate unconventional pieces including glass blown pendants in my jewelry.
Hi! I'm Megan
I am a metalsmith/artist by night, and a scientist by day. Structured and organized in my work life, I've always loved art as an expressive outlet for letting go of those boundaries or rules, allowing passion and creativity to drive.
I am originally from New Orleans, a city that proudly flaunts its vibrant quirks. I grew up surrounded by creative spirits, colorful architecture, and an appreciation for a fun time - all of which fostered me to encorporate spontaneity and bold color into my work.
My goal is to create vibrant jewelry that is uplifting to its wearers, to inspire this free-spirited and joyous attitude in everyday life.

How it all began...
I began making jewelry out of bead and wire in 2012. My late aunt Jann was an artist, jeweler, and teacher with the most uplifting and colorful presence. She mastered all sorts of art forms working out of her rustic studio on her family farm. Her art was often abstract and spontaneous, and always uplifting, like her.
After she passed, I was given some of her tools and beads, and used techniques that she’d taught me to start making my own pieces, and I was immediately hooked. Her collection included a unique assortment of beads and pendants, from beautiful gemstones to hand-carved wooden "three wise monkeys" beads to colorful glass pendants. It was fun to imagine where she may have gotten them all, and to let the beads inspire the design.
To this day, I start with a stone, and let it inspire the design. In 2021, I began taking classes to learn to metalsmith, which opened a ton of doors for broadening my design options… Continuing to learn excites me, and as I evolve, I work to maintain the spontaneity and free nature inspired by Jann.
